LAX to Palm Springs Chauffeur Service

A hundred and ten miles east, and about two hours when the road behaves. The first half is unremarkable: the 105 east, then the 60 or the 10 across the Inland Empire, whichever is running better that afternoon. Then the freeway climbs through Beaumont and Banning and the drive changes character completely. The San Gorgonio Pass is the gap between Mount San Gorgonio and Mount San Jacinto, both over ten thousand feet, and coming down its desert side the turbines begin: thousands of them, across the floor of the Pass and up the slopes on either side, which is reliably the moment passengers put their phones down. Palm Springs is a few minutes past the last of them. It is a genuinely good drive, and it is still two hours of driving, which is the part people underestimate from the map.

Nobody sets out to reach the desert this way, and the reason it happens anyway is worth stating plainly. Palm Springs International sits two miles from downtown and is the easiest arrival anywhere in the region when it flies your route, but its schedule is seasonal and largely domestic, so a long-haul or international ticket usually routes through Los Angeles instead, and so does a good deal of the summer timetable. Worth flagging too: Palm Springs on a booking usually means the valley rather than the city, and Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells and La Quinta sit a further twelve to twenty five miles east, roughly another half hour past the Palm Springs exit, so tell us the actual address before we set off. The season runs about October to May, which is when the tennis at Indian Wells and the Empire Polo Club festivals fill the valley, and each of those has its own page here. Summer is the honest counterpoint: it is punishing, well past 110 degrees for weeks at a time, and the trade is an empty valley at low-season rates. One 2026 Cadillac Escalade ESV carries six travellers and six bags, the price is settled at booking rather than at the curb, and the flight is tracked from our end. CPUC regulated, TCP #45621-A.

Frequently Asked Questions

About 110 miles and roughly two hours, and the second half is the interesting half. The 105 east feeds the 60 or the 10 across the Inland Empire, whichever is moving, and then the freeway climbs through Beaumont and Banning into the San Gorgonio Pass, the gap between two mountains over ten thousand feet. The Pass is what moves the clock. It has its own weather, it is exposed enough that high wind slows heavy traffic through it, and an eastbound Friday afternoon can add most of an hour to the whole run. So the run gets timed against how the Pass is behaving on your date, not against a number averaged over every day of the week.

Yes, and on a run this long you want that settled before you land rather than after. We watch the flight itself and not the schedule you booked against, so an hour on the tarmac moves the car rather than stranding it at the curb. We hold 45 minutes of complimentary wait for domestic arrivals and 60 for international. If customs holds you beyond that, a message tells us far more than a guess does, because starting a two hour drive at the wrong hour is a different problem from being ten minutes late to a short transfer.

Yes, and on a drive this length people usually want to. Cabazon, on the desert side of the Pass, is the natural break and costs very little time. Beyond that we are regularly asked for a detour to Joshua Tree, a climb up the hill to Idyllwild, or a supermarket stop before a rental house with an empty fridge. Mention it when you book so it is in the schedule and in the price before we set off.

The ceiling is six passengers and six bags, and over two hours it does more work than it does on a short hop. Golf is the usual test, because a lot of this traffic is golf: four sets of clubs on top of four people and their luggage does not go, and we would far rather work that out at booking than at the curb with the tailgate open.

Yes, and here the return is the leg worth settling first. Going home is the same two hours against a fixed deadline, usually on a morning when a good share of the valley is leaving at once, and the Sunday after a festival weekend is that at its most extreme. Hold both directions in one booking and the ride back is assigned before you have unpacked, rather than arranged from a resort lobby on the day you fly.

When your itinerary allows it, yes, and we would tell you so. Palm Springs International is barely two miles from downtown, it is a single open-air terminal you can be out of in minutes, and it has its own page on this site. What creates this route is that PSP runs a seasonal, largely domestic schedule: service thins in the hot months, and long-haul and international arrivals mostly do not stop there at all. So people land at LAX less because they weighed the two airports and more because the flight they needed only went to Los Angeles. If that is you, the 110 miles is the part we take off your hands.
