What time does a Calamigos Ranch wedding actually finish?
The venue publishes it: events must conclude by 11:30 PM, with music and bar service ending at 11:00 PM, and ceremonies typically start at 5:30 or 6:00 PM. It also does not host after-parties on site. That combination is the whole reason this page exists, because it means there is no staggered departure and no lingering. A few hundred people leave within the same twenty minutes, in the dark, onto a canyon road.
Why not just arrange rides at the end of the night?
Because everyone else is doing it in the same twenty minutes, at a rural address, at half past eleven. We do not make claims about how other services perform up there, and we do not need to: the point is that a pre-booked chauffeur is already parked on site before the finish, with your name on the booking, rather than being requested at the moment several hundred other people want to leave.
How does the hourly booking work for a wedding?
You reserve the vehicle for a block of time rather than for a single trip, which is what makes it wait. The minimum is 3 hours at $375, and it continues by the hour from there. For a full evening, the 8 hour Full Day is $800 and the 12 hour Extended Day is $1,100, both a flat rate below the straight hourly price. Waiting time is included throughout, so nothing is running while the car sits.
Who is this for, the couple or the guests?
The guests and the wedding party. If you are moving 150 people you want a coach company, and we will say so. What we do is one vehicle for your own group for the evening: six passengers and six bags in an Escalade ESV, which covers the couple and the immediate party, or a family who flew in together and would rather not split across cars at midnight.
Can you collect us from LAX and take us to the ranch?
Yes, and it is a common shape for this venue. The ranch sits about 36 miles from LAX in the Santa Monica Mountains, so an arrival transfer and the evening booking are two separate things and are often booked together. Send us the flight number and the arrival is timed against it, with the evening block held separately.
Can we stay on site instead?
Some of you can, and it is worth arranging early. The Calamigos Ranch Resort and Spa has 52 rooms with 74 beds, and room blocks are arranged through the venue Events Office rather than through us. Note the arithmetic though: 52 rooms against venue spaces seating several hundred means most guests are not staying over, which is exactly why the drive down the canyon is the part worth planning.
