What Changes on 13 October

If you have flown out of Burbank before, most of your routine is about to stop applying. Here is what is different, and what is not.

๐Ÿข
One building, not two

Terminals A and B are replaced by a single terminal. The check in hall, security and the gates are all in one place, so the old question of which terminal your airline uses no longer applies.

๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ
The roadway separates traffic types

The current roadway mixes arriving and departing traffic together with commercial vehicles, shared ride vans and taxis. The new roadway separates them, with dedicated lanes for buses, for rideshare and for the parking structure.

๐Ÿš—
Departures and arrivals split at the curb

Private cars dropping off and private cars collecting no longer share the same stretch of kerb. That is the change most likely to alter where you meet your chauffeur, and it is the reason we confirm your exact spot with you rather than assume the old one.

๐Ÿงญ
A different corner of the airport

The new terminal sits in the northeast quadrant of the airfield, replacing the southeast footprint the current buildings occupy. Your approach and the walk from the car both change.

๐Ÿงณ
Baggage claim comes indoors

All five carousels are in one indoor hall. Today bags are collected outdoors, so meeting someone off a flight in the rain or the heat stops being part of the trip.

โœˆ๏ธ
You still walk to the aircraft

There are still no jet bridges and there are still 14 gates. Boarding works the way it always has at Burbank, out across the apron and up the stairs, which is worth knowing if you were expecting that to change with the building.

Where Your Chauffeur Will Be Waiting

The airport has said that the new roadway separates traffic types, and that departing and arriving private cars no longer share the same kerb. It has not yet published which lane a chartered vehicle uses, and we would rather tell you nothing than tell you the wrong door.

So we confirm your exact pickup point with you before the day, and your chauffeur is staged there. On an arrival we track the flight, so a late landing moves the meeting time rather than costing you the ride.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the new Burbank Airport terminal open?

Monday 13 October 2026. From that day the new building replaces Terminals A and B, and everything moves to the northeast side of the airfield at once rather than in stages.

Where will my chauffeur meet me at the new terminal?

We confirm your exact pickup point with you before the day. The new roadway separates traffic types and splits departing and arriving private cars at the kerb, so the spot people used at the old terminal will not simply carry across. Rather than guess at it from a rendering, we agree the point with you and your chauffeur is waiting there.

What actually changes for someone being picked up?

Three things. Arrivals and departures no longer share one stretch of kerb, all five baggage carousels are now in a single indoor hall, and the whole terminal has moved to the northeast quadrant. If you have flown from Burbank before, the walk from the bag to the car is the part that will feel different.

Is the airport bigger, and does that mean more gates?

The building is much bigger and the gate count is the same. It goes from 232,000 to 355,000 square feet with 14 gates, unchanged. The extra space went into the things that were tight before, including the check in hall, security and baggage.

Do I still walk out to the plane?

Yes. The new terminal has no jet bridges, so passengers still board from the apron. That is a deliberate part of the design rather than an unfinished detail, and it is one of the few parts of a Burbank departure that does not change.

Can you collect me if my flight lands late?

Yes. We track your flight and adjust the pickup, and a person confirms the new time with you rather than leaving you to work it out. Wait time is included: 45 minutes for domestic arrivals, 60 for international.

Flying Burbank After 13 October?

Tell us your flight and we will handle the rest, including where to meet at a terminal nobody has used yet.
